This burgeoning Australian actress has been impressing me with her off duty ‘hippie chic’ (see above) and her more polished red carpet looks. Her natural beauty, love of short hemlines and ease in front of the camera makes her a serious style icon contender. Take a look at some of her most recent successful outfits!
This is a true A List moment, Isabel is able to sport curls, diamonds and sky high metallic heels yet she still look natural and chic. I’m jealous!
This look I absolutely adore! Its it simplicity that made me take notice, the concept is so classic ‘a shift and heels’ but the color and cut of the dress and her hair and make up is truly modern.
Head to toe in Chanel, Isabel shows off her teeny tiny waist. I love her fashion forward make-up, bare clean skin with a dark cherry lip. She is definitely one to keep your eye on, I know I will be…

I have recently been paying extra special attention to a few new faces in the acting world due to their fabulous fashion choices and equally stunning looks. I wanted to point them out as I think they have huge potential in becoming style icons of their own!
Now I may be a little biased here as I work with this particular actress but I really do think that Rachelle Lefevre has an incredibly strong aesthetic and wears clothes so very well. She absolutely has her own sense of style in her everyday life and I have had the pleasure of working with her for some publicity events for her movie Twilight. Take a look at some of her best fashion moments.
Her red carpet moment above is a young fresh look that encapsulates two of this seasons biggest trends, nude tones and diamonds! Rachelle looks contemporary yet soooo sophis. I’m proud of this look!
Here is Rachelle sporting her off duty uniform of skinny ripped jeans and flats paired with super fine thin knits (think cashmere and merino) and her ever faithful scarf. This look works so well as its classic but she keeps it fashion forward by adding elements such as the studded flats and metallic scarf. Love it
At a TWILIGHT press event I dressed Rachelle in a fabulous Lauren Moffatt minidress paired with the must have white tux blazer. (Styling note: when you wear your tux jacket, push the sleeves up a la Rachelle, it adds a laissez-faire element to your look!)

I truly believe that when it comes to fashion dos and don’ts (and I risk alienating a few readers here) TATOO’S are a big fat DON’T. Sure butterflies are pretty and dragons are dramatic, and you may think tat’s make you appear young, non conformist and quirky, but will you really want to sport them on your body when you are in your late 50’s? I don’t think so! The only other alternative is to spend a fortune on having them removed.
Some rebellious celeb’s such as Peaches Geldof and Amy Winehouse (see pics above) have gone waaayyyy too far. I think they look messy and over adorned. How can any outfit they wear ever look classic and chic with those scribbles all over their bodies? Ladies if you must get a tattoo (and I would really rather you didn’t!) get a tiny one in a place that can be easily concealed as tattoos really do not suit every occasion. Over and out!

This weekend Lindsay Lohan (I fear she is going to come up a lot in the next few ‘don’t’ posts) launched her new fake tan line in the classy setting of the MGM hotel in Vegas. As I looked at the photographs of her ‘partying’ alongside her tacky pals with her blotchy faux tan, it truly terrified me that the worlds obsession with tanned skin will continue to rise until we are all a deep shade of orange.
I mentioned in my first ever post of CLAREIFICATION the orange tones that surrounded me as I sunbathed at the Roosevelt Hotel pool. And I wasn’t talking about peoples bikini’s, I was talking about their skin. Over tan skin, both faux and real is reaching epidemic status in LA. Blotchy fake tans and leathery sun beds tans are not a good look people! Vicky Beckham, Lindsay and Rachel Zoe should be ashamed of themselves for supporting and encouraging this awful aesthetic. If they are not careful they are going to look like raisins and prunes very soon..DREADFUL!
Of course it is unavoidable for us here in LA to avoid the sun completely, and I’ll admit I like a lightly sun kissed look (at least spf15 everyday, I highly recommend Neutrogena’s line) but the Orangina look is a big NO NO!

OK kids, now I have talked a lot about ‘Fashion Do’s’ what to buy, who to be inspired by, which trends to follow, but now I am going to advise you on what looks to avoid. I will bring attention to trends that I think are a crime and fashion nightmares that I have spotted on the red carpet. Celebrities, non celebrities, I am going to come after all of you. You have been warned!
My first fashion don’t is over accessorizing. I cringe when a perfectly decent outfit is ruined by too many accoutrements. It is a trend that is rife in LA. Girls are piling on cheap Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters fedoras, sunglasses, necklaces, head bands, scarves, bracelets and rings on to their tiny bodies ALL AT ONCE. It’s surprising that they remain upright due to the weight of it all! Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton are the predominant celebrity leaders of this trend (no coincidence they are all ex clients of the over accessorized stylist Rachel Zoe). Girls! Its too much! its too fussy and cluttered! You need to be reminded of Coco Chanel’s infamous saying:
‘When you’re done dressing, you should look in the mirror and take one thing off before you leave the house’

Jean Seberg in ‘A Bout De Souffle’ takes my breath away (excuse the pun) Her chic French outfits in this film are the perfect blend of masculine/feminine. Here are a few stills that will inspire and provoke intense jealousy (well, they did in me anyway).
Why don’t i look this fabulous when I’m hanging out at home on my bed? I’m am more likely to be found wearing an old T-shirt and striped PJ’s (i can’t be a fashionista all the time people!) I adore her jauntily tilted fedora and striped tank…so chic and simple!
Here is one of my favorites being utilized again; the striped t-shirt. To update this look pair with high waisted jean shorts or a little pleated mini with flats and bare legs…and your gold rolex…and your chanel bag…do you love it? I do!
Oh Jean, look at you here, you seem pensive and wistful, are you OK? WHO CARES! all I care about is how stylish you look in that striped mens shirt! Ladies, we must wear our boyfriends/gay best friends shirts, just make sure you pair them with feminine pieces so you don’t look too ‘morning after the night before’. Wear them with skinny jeans and heels and your ever faithful Chanel 2.55. Enjoy!

Ever since Michelle Williams appeared at the Oscars with the late Heath Ledger wearing the canary yellow Vera Wang gown and orange red lips I have followed her style very closely. I think she is rather wonderful and her everyday look seems to embody the Williamsburg girl about town. Here are some of my favorite looks, from the red carpet to the streets of Brooklyn.
Here she looks so reminiscent of Mia Farrow with her 60’s Chloe shift dress and elfin crop. I love her lily white skin and nude lips, such a refreshing contrast to the overly made up fake tanned stars we are often exposed to (Megan Fox and LiLo pay attention!)
I love this, the white Grecian draping with the black shoe boot and the daring bare leg. Michelle has such a feminine soft appearance it contrtasts so perfectly with how clean and basic this evening look is.
Here is michelle in a look I often wear myself, for regular followers of Clarification you can see that she is sporting three of my fashion classics, slim cut jeans in white for summer, ballet flats and a button down. LOVE.

Here are some items of clothing that I am dying for. I’m not saying they are classics, I just want them ok?! I WANT this sold out Barbara hulanicki for TOPSHOP limited edition mini dress soooo badly. www.topshop.com Its absolutely perfect for summer with bare legs and lace up oxfords…
Speaking of oxfords…I’m in love with these repetto brogues. I am lusting after them, I long to pair them with a pair of denim cut offs, a white t and a blazer, for a perfectly preppy look. Find them on sale for $195 at www.creaturesofcomfort.com Its all about boy meets girl fashion for me at the moment.
This t by Alexander Wang is perfect for layering. I know its something I will use over and over again.
I have been wanting a gold rolex FOREVER! I have to admit that Ashley Olsen was the catalyst for my obsession. Here’s a pic of her in that very moment when my love for the gold rolex began. Look at her wrist kids! So hip it hurts…ouch, jealousy hurts too….

OMG you guys, I totally totally adore Mark Ronson. Even though he seems a little in love with himself I don’t give a hoot! His style is to die for, he really has got it together and is always impeccably turned out. Guys, take notes once again. Look at the picture above, he is wearing a tweed pea coat, with white plimsolls. He prevents the look from being too ‘granddad’ by adding a black t-shirt and slim cut pants. Swoon.
Um, will somebody give me mouth to mouth? I think I just stopped breathing. I am dying over his brave grey skinny suit choice, paired with the ever faithful plimsolls. I love it when guys wear a casual shoe with a close fitting suit. Delightful.
Where do I start?! The double breasted trench with the tan buttons, the 60’s boots, his foppish hair, the cravat, and to top it all off, a guitar case. What a modern day dandy. His unabashed style choices are truly admirable. Guys take a few more risks, if wondering how to do that email me, or google Mark Ronson!
